Karuppu Uzhunthu Porridge

Made to be cooked into a wholesome kanji (porridge). Warm, filling, and comforting for days when you want a simple, nourishing meal. A favourite choice for school-age children, teenagers, and the whole family. Cooking Method Method: Mix 2 tablespoons (30 g) of the porridge mix with 50 ml water to make a smooth paste without lumps. Bring 200 ml water or milk to a boil. Add the prepared paste gradually while stirring continuously. Cook over low to medium heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring continuously until the porridge thickens. Sweet Variation Add jaggery or palm jaggery and stir until completely dissolved. Switch off the heat, then add fresh grated coconut and boiled milk to achieve your desired consistency. Serve warm. Savoury Variation Allow the porridge to cool slightly. Add buttermilk, salt, cumin powder, and finely chopped curry leaves. Mix well and serve.
